A successful presentation to an expert jury

Last Friday, after a month of intensive work, our Neptune team had the honor of presenting our project to a jury composed of recognized professionals from the sector. This presentation, as part of the Epitech Innovative Projects (EIP), was an opportunity to demonstrate the potential of our AI solution for beach surveillance.

The presentation format was demanding: 5 minutes to pitch and demonstrate our prototype, followed by a Q&A session with the jury. A challenge that our team met brilliantly, highlighting the relevance and innovation of Neptune.

An exceptional jury

The quality of the jury testifies to the importance given to these innovative projects:

  • Hafid Mokadem – Head of the Local IT Department (DSII) for Morbihan at the Rennes Academy
  • Yann Jehanneuf – Applied Innovation Exchange Lead at Capgemini
  • Sonia Résouf – Youth Program Advisor at Crédit Agricole Ille-et-Vilaine
  • Mylène Durand – Entrepreneurship Consultant at Orange
  • Etienne Passot – Product Owner at Steeple and PGE Class of 2021 alumnus
  • Gabriel Hamel – Senior Developer at Yield | Studio & Advisory and MSc Pro Class of 2022 alumnus

Neptune: A life-saving solution

Our Neptune project particularly impressed the jury with its innovative approach to beach surveillance. Using artificial intelligence to analyze video feeds from surveillance cameras in real time, Neptune is capable of automatically detecting distress situations and immediately alerting lifeguards.

"A beach surveillance solution using AI to assist lifeguards and ensure better safety on beaches. Thanks to complex software to inspect a live camera feed and analyze the movements of people in the water and on the beach, it is capable of alerting lifeguards in case of problems."

A recognition that motivates us

This "Heart Award" is a wonderful recognition of the work accomplished by the entire team. It validates our technical approach and confirms the social relevance of our project. This distinction motivates us to continue developing Neptune with even more determination.

We now have until our 5th and final year at Epitech to develop Neptune and transform it into an operational solution. The objective is clear: make Neptune an indispensable tool for beach safety.

Towards the future

This victory marks an important step in the Neptune adventure, but it's only the beginning. Strengthened by this recognition, we will intensify our efforts to make Neptune a reality on French beaches and why not, internationally.
